ABOUT LOHO

LOHO is a community based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of developing current and future housing and healthcare solutions for the senior population of Lopez Island. LOHO is governed by a 15 member working board and supported by a 28 member advisory council, and several experienced consultants. They are listed below.

LOHO MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of LOHO is to create and manage residential communities, with support services, that enable seniors to age in place on Lopez Island.

Our shared values and strategic goals include:

1. Utilize and collaborate with all relevant community resources and services.
2. Address Island economic diversity by including affordable housing units.
3. Encourage physical and mental well being by offering and/or facilitating social, physical and intellectual activities that enhance the quality of life of residents.
4. Respect the individual dignity of residents through policies that include non-discrimination based on race, color, sex, national origin, disability, marital or familial status or sexual orientation.
5. Utilize wherever possible, sustainable practices to preserve Island and environmental resources.
6. Create a model for senior housing in rural communities that can be replicated throughout the country.
