HAMLET HOUSE

The Hamlet House is an Adult Family Home in the new senior housing project of Lopez Village. It is a 4500 sq. ft. structure which includes 6 private rooms with half bath, a common living room, parlor, dining room, kitchen, and a full bath. The second floor houses the apartment for the resident manager. Two of the six rooms are allocated for lower income levels. Our goal is to provide a loving home environment where care is delivered in a manner similar to the way a family member would give assistance in their home. We received our state certification on April 24, 2008.

Services Provided

The AFH provides three meals per day with snacks, housekeeping and laundry service, assistance with activities of daily living and medications, as well as arranging for local transportation. There is on-site supervision 24 hours each day.

The Resident Manager is Terri Fox. She brings long time skills and experience in AFH management to Hamlet House. Her attitude about working with seniors: "I have been involved in elder care for approximately 35 years. For the past 10 years, I was the manager of a home for the elderly developmentally disabled in Bellingham. My philosophy in working with geriatrics has always been to support Independence, lifestyle, and personal choices. I revere and like older people. They have a huge amount of experience under their belts, have access to a different perspective and can tell some fantastic stories about their lives." Please stop by and introduce yourself when you are in the Village.

Eligibility

Admission criteria will follow WA State and Hamlet House AFH Guidelines that include a pre-admission assessment by a team comprised of medical and social services professionals. As each individual is unique, the assessment will determine the level of services needed and whether the AFH can provide the customized care needed by that person. Generally, Hamlet House will be able to provide services to those who will benefit from personal assistance in a group home environment.

Cost

$4,530/month market rate
$2,780/month lower income
